Ten Years of Tatari, in the Words of the People Who Helped Build It

Ten Years of Tatari, in the Words of the People Who Helped Build It

Over the past week, we’ve been celebrating ten years of Tatari with clients, partners, and each other, and for good reason. But the more of those celebrations I sit in, the more I think the real one belongs somewhere else. Ten years of a company is really just ten years of people choosing to keep showing up for the love of the work, for the brands who trust us with it, and for each other. Who better to tell the story of ten years of Tatari than the Tatarians who lived it? So we asked Tatarians across the globe to share their experiences from the interview process to their day-to-day. Here’s what a decade of growth looks like from the inside.

Joining the Team

You start experiencing Tatari before you've ever worked here. It's in how fast we get back to you, who you meet, whether the person interviewing you actually knows what the job is, whether your questions get real answers or polished non-answers. We don't think of hiring as a performance we put on for candidates. It's the first honest look at what you'd be joining. Many of our interview sessions aren't tests, they're built to be collaborative with the interviewer, because that's genuinely what a normal Tuesday looks like here.

Karen Lam (Principal Product Designer - Joined March 2025)

"I felt my interview process reflected pretty well the type of work, the people, and culture I was getting into. I especially appreciated getting a thorough product walk-through with cross-functional partners, and given plenty of space to ask questions. End-to-end, I felt supported and welcomed, especially by my hiring manager."

Hannah Bergman (Client Services Manager, Services - Joined June 2025)

"During my interview process, I got the sense that Tatari had a strong culture with genuinely great people, and that was one of the biggest things that drew me to the role. After being here for about a year, I can confidently say that first impression has held true! I've really enjoyed getting to know everyone, both professionally and personally. They've made coming into the office feel fun and welcoming, and collaborating feels like a natural extension of the relationships and friendships I've built here. Overall, I think the people and culture are what make working at Tatari unique. They've made working here feel like more than just a job and created an environment where I genuinely enjoy showing up every day."

Curiosity is Encouraged

The ability to ask any questions throughout the interview process doesn't change once you join Tatari. It's simply how we work every single day. If you've got a question, you go find the person who has the answer, whether it’s an engineer on another team, your manager's manager, or even our CEO. We have an open-door (or Slack) policy for a reason. There isn't a lot standing between "I wonder" and "I know," and we like it that way. Despite hitting our 10th year and with 300+ employees globally, we still operate with this start-up spirit and we hold onto it on purpose rather than hope it survives on its own.

Sam Lee (Senior CSM, Platform Solutions - Joined September 2024)

"Title never gets in the way of getting help. Whether it's a quick Slack to a Director+ or looping in someone from another department, people make time—no gatekeeping. Events like the annual company Bonanza and happy hours build the relationships, but it's that everyday openness across levels that really keeps me here."

Ashley Grayovski (Client Partner, Services - Joined January 2025)

"Working at Tatari has been a genuinely positive experience. The culture is deeply collaborative, questions are always welcomed without judgment, and senior management is remarkably accessible whenever you need support."

Nick Below (Staff Fullstack Engineer - Joined November 2019)

"One of my favorite things about Tatari is the willingness of other people, no matter what department, location, level…they are in, to help out at a moment's notice. I love to get things done, and being able to avoid layers of red tape to get answers and support is not only really refreshing, but also very efficient."

Matt Beeson (Senior Team Lead, Services - Joined November 2020)

"I've never hesitated to reach out to someone more senior or on a totally different team if I needed their input or help since I started at Tatari as a Client Services Associate. No matter how busy someone may seem, I've consistently found folks willing to jump on a quick call or answer a question, regardless of title. And as I’ve grown into a leadership position, I make sure that it continues to pay forward!"

Casey Crowley (Senior Account Executive, Brand - Joined January 2025)

"It's made very clear from as early as the interview process that egos are left at the door here, and everyone at the organization, including anyone with a “C” in front of their title, is accessible and ready to jump at an opportunity to help – I believe this is a major factor to why we’re able to execute such great work. That kind of openness is a game changer for not only one's professional progression, but also (maybe more importantly) generally how you feel every day when you show up to work."

Collaboration is a Given

We embrace AI across the board, but you'll never find yourself emailing or talking to it. AI helps us move faster; it isn't who we are. The human part is also the key to collaboration, and collaboration isn't just a value we put on a slide; it's just how the work gets done. People are willing to listen, willing to be wrong, genuinely curious about what someone else sees that they don't. That's not a nice-to-have, it's the reason the work is actually better. You catch the blind spots earlier, you build on ideas instead of defending your own, and you end up with an outcome none of you would've landed on alone.

That's also why we're hybrid, and we mean it. You pick the two days a week that makes the most sense for you to come in (though free lunch days tend to be the most popular). Nobody's tracking whether every hour in the office was maximally productive, because that's not really the point. The point is the conversation that never would've happened over Slack, the context you pick up just being near people, the version of your job that works better because you know your coworkers as actual humans. Being around each other isn't a break from work, it's part of work.

Jasmine Ang (Backend Engineer - Joined December 2025)

"From my first day in the office, I could tell that Tatari's culture is really welcoming and supportive! I've never had an issue asking someone for help since people are always willing to lend a hand. That kind of support makes it a great place to learn and grow!"

Wyatt Nelson (Senior Account Executive, Brand - Joined November 2025)

"Tatari has been amazing to work for since day one. It's a culture that genuinely values community, where people actually look out for each other and celebrate each other's wins. What stands out most is how passionate everyone is about the work. That energy is contagious, and it pushes me to bring my best every day. I'm a big believer in in-office culture, and Tatari makes coming in truly worth it. The collaboration, the spontaneous conversations, the sense of being part of something bigger than any one project. Tatari has exceeded my expectations from the start, and I can't wait to keep growing alongside such a talented, driven team."

There's an idea from sociologist Ray Oldenburg of a "third place.” His point was that people need somewhere besides home (first place) and work (second place), a third kind of place for the low-stakes, informal stuff that makes you feel like part of something. The increase of remote work in the last few years has downplayed the benefits of work as one of these spaces. We believe that hybrid work creates the balance needed for Tatarians to have people who feel like part of your life, not just names in your inbox.

Longevity

None of this is usually the reason people expect. But it tends to be the actual reason people choose Tatari, and the reason they stay; the work, the people, a culture you can feel rather than one that's just plastered on a job posting.

Sean Drobeck (Senior Team Lead, Services - Joined March 2019)

"For the 7+ years I’ve been at Tatari, our key values haven't changed— transparency, integrity, and real collaboration. These values also extend to how we work with clients that result in genuine partnerships rather than transactions. Operationally,  efficiency and technical firepower have leveled up, which has allowed us to focus on our clients in a different league."

Elizabeth Burgis (Director, Services - Joined October 2019)

"Tatari continues to recognize the priority of work-life balance, with benefits such as unlimited PTO and monthly mandatory day off being crucial for the pace of work we do here. The business has evolved and every growth has brought on new challenges that require the teams to be nimble and support each other, but it has also made us more resilient and more intentional about how we work, communicate, and make decisions."

Lauren Cary (Team Lead, Digital Marketing - Joined March 2019)

"Tatari has always attracted really smart, curious people who are genuinely good to work with, and that hasn’t changed as we’ve grown. I’ve always appreciated how open people are – including leadership – where no one pretends to have all the answers so you feel comfortable admitting that you’re stuck, overwhelmed, or need help, and others genuinely step in. Within the marketing team, when I first joined, it was extremely scrappy and everyone wore a dozen hats. Now, every function has real depth, and I get to work with people who are experts in their own areas, and I believe that it generates better ideas, the collaboration is strong, and we move faster. As we’ve grown, you naturally lost a bit of that “everyone knows everyone” feeling. But Tatari has done a good job creating opportunities for people to connect, whether it’s through big company events like the annual retreat (aka Bonanza) or smaller team moments in the office—while it does feel different than when I started six years ago, I still feel connected to other Tatarians."

Mitch Panajian (Senior Team Lead, Media Operations - Joined February 2019)

"One of the key things that has stayed true at Tatari since I've joined is how we prioritize hiring nice people who are easy to work with. Not only has it allowed people to establish friendships outside of work, but also makes it easy for you to ask anyone any questions!"

Alex Kahan (Backend Engineer - Joined March 2018)

"The startup feeling has stuck around more than I expected as we've grown. One of the perks that I take advantage of the most is the yearly learning stipend, which helped my transition from the media side to engineering. But what's kept me here is the people—I’ve made close friends, I met my fiancée here. I think it says a lot about a company that has a lot of employees who have been here such a long time. We stay for a reason."

You've just heard Tatarians describe what the last ten years actually felt like. If that sounds like where you'd do your best work, come help write the next ten. Check out our open positions.
